The Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program at the University of Wisconsin is an ACGME accredited, fully funded 1-year training program. Applications for the 2022-23 academic year may be submitted for consideration via ERAS (see NOTE below).
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible:
- Graduates of U.S. or Canadian medical schools accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or graduates of U.S. or Canadian colleges of osteopathic medicine accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
- Graduates of medical schools outside the U.S. or Canada who are certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and meet one of the following criteria:
- U.S. citizenship
- Permanent legal residency status in the U.S. (green card)
- Eligible to hold a J-1 Clinical Visa sponsored by ECFMG
The UWHC and thus Department of Medicine do not sponsor H-1 (temporary worker) visas. Other legal documents authorizing work in the U.S. will be reviewed.
All applications must include a current CV, personal statement, and three letters of recommendation, including one from applicant’s CVM program director.
Proof of current CPR and ACLS certification is required prior to starting the program.
PLEASE NOTE: Our Interventional Cardiology Fellowship positions for the 2021-22 academic year have been filled. We will be accepting applications for the 2022-23 academic year through ERAS which opens to candidates November, 2020. Application review will occur in December with candidate interviews to follow January-February 2021.
