The Internal Medicine Interest Group (IMIG) is a student-led organization dedicated to helping medical students explore internal medicine and its subspecialties. Supported by the Department of Medicine and the American College of Physicians (ACP), IMIG provides a supportive and welcoming environment where students can learn, grow, and connect.
What We Offer
We offer students the chance to:
- Learn about internal medicine through a variety of sessions and events covering hot topics, career paths, and sub-specialties.
- Build professional relationships with faculty members.
- Apply for funding for activities such as poster printing and conference attendance.
- Network with students and trainees who share your interest in internal medicine.

Fall:
- IMIG Student Kickoff: An opportunity to meet your IMIG Student Leaders, find out about upcoming events, register for ACP Membership, and meet your classmates interested in Internal Medicine.

- Subspecialty Mixer: Meet with faculty representatives of the many divisions of the Department of Medicine to learn about career pathways, day-in-the-life activities, and residency and fellowship experiences in a low-pressure, round-robin style environment.

How to Get Involved
IMIG is led by a team of dedicated student leaders, faculty advisors, and an administrative coordinator.
We strongly encourage students to take advantage of the FREE ACP student membership. Benefits include:
- Access to a wide range of resources at no cost
- Directly supporting IMIG, as our ACP funding is tied to medical student membership
