Focusing on Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Treatment
The University of Wisconsin Cardiovascular Research Center (UW CVRC) in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is the academic home for nearly 100 UW–Madison scientists, physicians and educators working on the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease through basic research, clinical investigation, diagnosis and therapy, and public education.
Translational Research
The CVRC also houses a wide range of cardiovascular science research.
Of particular note are programs in heart failure, ion channels and arrhythmias, and vascular biology.
Collaboration Across UW
Nowhere is the collaborative spirit of the CVRC on display more clearly than at its annual Cardiovascular Research Summit, which brings together researchers from across the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) and the university.
