The goal of our program is to produce independent investigators in the broadly defined field of hematology. We train a mixture of MD and PhD candidates, to maximize the cross-fertilization among trainees, and emphasize multidisciplinary approaches in both basic and clinical research. The training program is tailored to the career goals of the trainee. All trainees receive instruction in the responsible conduct of science. We especially encourage the application of under-represented minorities for both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training positions.
