Community-Engaged Research

The improvement of diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia for women, African Americans, Native Americans, and other groups traditionally underrepresented in research is critically important for equity across research populations within the community. Focus on the relationship between falls and impaired cognition, especially for elderly living in their homes in the community. Research focused on the recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups for studies on stroke and Alzheimer’s diseases is critically important to look at how communities are impacted by the onset and progression of Alzheimer's disease.
