Customized Training for the Career You Want

Through experiences such as an orientation bootcamp, "Tough Beans" difficult case conferences, and hands-on procedural training in a high-volume center, our robust two-year curriculum gives you the experiences you need to excel in your career.

Didactic Experiences

Fellowship kicks off with a two-week bootcamp-style orientation that includes didactic and practical sessions, plus opportunities to shadow senior fellows to ensure you feel confident as you start your first clinical rotation.

Throughout fellowship, education is a top priority with learning and service obligations in balance. Our didactic and case-based conferences fit within and complement experiential learning to prepare you for the subspecialty board exam and independent practice.

Our research curriculum includes electives on clinical problems related to renal disease, clinical pharmacology, and research on renal physiology or pathophysiology.

Clinical Experiences

Our program’s clinical experience gives you progressive autonomy while exposing you to a diverse patient population, a variety of patient-care management styles, and a high-volume procedure environment.

You'll provide inpatient and outpatient care in academic and private-practice settings, including:

Scholarly Activity

Fellows have the opportunity to be involved in several ongoing research projects. We structure schedules to allow all first-year fellows to attend the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Spring Clinical Meeting and all second-year fellows to attend the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Kidney Week. Fellows are expected to author at least one publication prior to graduation.
