Post-graduate employment: Infectious Disease Physician, SSM Health, Madison WI

How our program prepared him: "I am so grateful for my training at UW. The faculty truly invest in their fellows and are dedicated to preparing us for our future careers any way they can. The program leadership is always advocating for the fellows to ensure not only are we getting extensive experience in all areas of ID, but also maintain a quality of life outside of work. I know that I'll always have the backing of the program moving forward when tough cases come up or need any other kind of support."

Class of 2022

Post-graduate employment: Assistant professor, University of Minnesota Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine. Continues to work in global health research and education, and general infectious diseases.

How our program prepared her: "I loved that the program was supportive of my interest in global health, and even offered financial support for my certification in clinical tropical medicine and traveler’s health."

How our program prepared him: "Surgical site infections and surgical pathology is a constant among nearly all ID physicians wherever they work....The experience garnered at UW in terms of surgical site and device-related infections left me well prepared to start on day one out of fellowship. The number and variety of cases you will experience as a UW ID fellow—from complicated neurosurgical cases to orthopedic infections—will shape a level of competence and confidence that allows you to pick up and start work virtually anywhere."
