Yun Liang, PhD | Molecular Underpinnings of Autoimmune Diseases

Yun Liang, PhD

Dr. Yun Liang’s laboratory studies the molecular underpinnings of autoimmune diseases. Because autoimmune diseases are significantly more prevalent in women than men, Dr. Liang’s research team uses a combination of “omics” and traditional methodology to understand sex differences in immune responses and the pathogenesis of diseases like lupus (in collaboration with Dr. Shivani Garg) and Sjögren's Syndrome (in collaboration with Dr. Sarah McCoy).

By delineating the immunological function of sex-biased factors, Dr Liang works to discover novel strategies to prevent and treat autoimmune diseases.
