MINA Study

AsthMatic Inflammation and Neurocircuitry Activation (MINA)

The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of how asthma influences brain function related to stress and emotion and vice versa.

Participation will include up to 12 outpatient visits to our research center located within the UW Hospital and Clinics building and to the Waisman Center, located across the street from the hospital. Study visits will occur over a 4 month period. Study visits include breathing tests, allergy skin testing, medical imaging and two bronchoscopies. Compensation up to $1,440 will be provided for your participation. Although this is not a treatment study, all study participants will be monitored closely during the study and will have access to asthma and allergy specialists if needed.
