Teaching Opportunities

We encourage fellows to actively participate in all of the division's teaching activities. If you're aiming for a career in academic endocrinology, this can be an opportunity to start a teaching portfolio.

You'll have opportunities to teach colleagues, residents and medical students—in both the clinical and didactic setting.

For example, we encourage you to take a lead role in educating residents and medical students rotating through our inpatient consult service. You'll also lead many of our division's educational conferences, including the conferences, journal clubs, and diabetes case conferences. We also invite fellows to present at Endocrine Grand Rounds once each year.

You'll also play a key role in teaching endocrinology content to first-year medical students by facilitating small-group discussions on diabetes and general endocrinology cases.

Educator Development

The Department of Medicine's Fellow Medical Education (FAME) Training Track (page in development) trains fellows to become effective clinician-teachers and scholars.
