Nutrition & Healthy Aging Research Theme Meeting 1

This meeting marks the launch of an innovative departmental initiative aimed at fostering collaborations, advancing research, and promoting the submission of Multiple Principal Investigator (MPI) grants. The Nutrition & Healthy Aging Theme will convene quarterly to achieve these ambitious goals.

Diabetes Day 2024

The Wisconsin Diabetes Research Center presents Diabetes Day 2024! Keynote speaker Douglas G. Mashek, PhD, professor of medicine and biochemistry, molecular biology and biophysics, will present "Breaking Fat: Expanding New Roles for Lipid Droplets in Cellular Function and Disease Etiology." The event also features poster sessions, flash talks and networking opportunities for faculty, students and staff.

Early Career Grant Writing Seminar - Day 2 of 2

This virtual seminar is designed to demystify the National Institutes of Health (NIH) K and, to a lesser extent, F32 grant writing process for early-career faculty, researchers/scientists (MD/PhD level), research administrators, postdocs primarily involved in research-oriented study, and fellows on T32s or in the Physician-Scientist Training Program (PSTP).

The DOM's Office of Research Services offers a 4-week career development bootcamp to prepare attendees to write and submit K grants or other career development proposals. Each of the 4 workshop sessions will include a general how-to discussion, breakout sessions for peer review and feedback, and an opportunity for further group questions and discussion. The focus for October 4 is Accessory Documents, Letters of Support, and Biosketches.

Must apply for consideration. Application submission closes Friday, August 30, 2024.

Preparing for the training of a K Award and Career Development

The DOM's Office of Research Services offers a 4-week career development bootcamp to prepare attendees to write and submit K grants or other career development proposals. Each of the 4 workshop sessions will include a general how-to discussion, breakout sessions for peer review and feedback, and an opportunity for further group questions and discussion. The focus for September 27 is preparing for the training of a K Award and Career Development.

Must apply for consideration. Application submission closes Friday, August 30, 2024.
