Sally is a health services research and evaluation scientist in the Department of Medicine and an affiliate faculty member in the University of Wisconsin Master of Public Health program. She conducts health services research focused on identifying barriers and facilitators to receiving health care, and analyzes health education at the patient, provider, and systems levels with the goal of developing interventions that target these barriers to care.
Sally oversees and manages many large projects, including a hybrid type 2 effectiveness-implementation study evaluating the Wisconsin UTI Improvement Toolkit in nursing homes (NHs) across Wisconsin, a mixed-methods study evaluating interventions to optimize antibiotic prescribing on transition from hospitals to long term care facilities, and a work systems evaluation of antibiotic information systems in Wisconsin nursing homes (RAISIN).
