Dr. Fahad Aziz named new Division of Nephrology Chief

Fahad Aziz, MD, associate professor, Nephrology, will become the next chief of our Division of Nephrology on August 1, 2025.
Dr. Aziz has been a member of the Department of Medicine faculty since 2017. He is the program director for our nephrology fellowship and the editor-in-chief of the Wisconsin Medical Journal.
He also teaches nephrology topics to physician assistant students and provides continuing medical education to practicing clinicians.
As a clinical nephrologist, his interests include transplant nephrology and hypertension, including a Hypertension Specialist Certification from the American Society of Hypertension.
Dr. Aziz has received a Department of Medicine Inspirational Educator Award and a Star Clinician Award for his contributions to teaching and patient care. The Division of Nephrology has also awarded him three Clinical Excellence Awards, two Teaching Excellence Awards and one Mentorship Excellence Award.

Fahad Aziz, MD
Dr. Aziz earned his medical degree from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, and completed an internal medicine residency at Jersey City Medical Center. He then completed a nephrology fellowship at the University of Missouri and a transplant nephrology fellowship here at the University of Wisconsin.
