Dr. Kathryn Miller named new Division of General Internal Medicine chief
Kathryn Miller, MD, associate professor, General Internal Medicine, will become the next chief of our Division of General Internal Medicine on April 19, 2026.
The division’s associate chief since 2024, Dr. Miller is a respected primary care physician certified in lifestyle medicine.
She established the multidisciplinary University of Wisconsin (UW) osteoarthritis management program, which has grown over six-fold since its creation in 2017.
In 2026, she became a faculty director on the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation (UWMF) Board of Directors.

Dr. Kathryn Miller
Dr. Miller earned her medical degree at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health and completed both her internal medicine residency and chief residency in the Department of Medicine. She also completed a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at UCLA.
Dr. Miller is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She has also received the General Internal Medicine Leadership Award and the Department of Medicine Chair’s Commendation Award in recognition of her leadership in the COVID-19 ambulatory care plan.
