Dr. Guzy’s research investigates the role of growth factor signaling, in particular fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis. He also studies regional differences in gene expression in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), comparing overall and fibroblast-specific differences between central and peripheral IPF lung biopsies. His research has been supported by a K08 from the NHLBI, the American Thoracic Society, American Lung Association, Respiratory Health Association, Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, Central Society for Clinical and Translational Research, and the American Heart Association.
