Dr. Ferguson obtained his MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 1988. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina before moving to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where he completed fellowships in pulmonary medicine and research. Dr. Ferguson joined the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH) as Visiting Associate Professor in 2008.
Currently an Associate Professor at UWSMPH, Dr. Ferguson is the Director of Interventional Pulmonology and Advanced Diagnostics at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. He serves as the Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship Program Director, and also on the University of Wisconsin Pulmonary Fellowship Education and Research Committees.
Dr. Ferguson has clinical interests in Interventional Pulmonology, Advanced Diagnostics, and Thoracic Oncology. He is a member of the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
