Dr. Farah Kaiksow is a faculty member in the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine. As a practicing hospitalist, Dr. Kaiksow focuses on providing acute care to adult patients in inpatient settings at both the UW Health and VA hospitals, where she also provides clinical instruction to medical students and residents. She is a member of the Department of Medicine's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee and the Graduate Medical Education DEI Committee. She is a core faculty member for both the Health Equity and Global Health Pathways of the Internal Medicine Residency program, and she is Affiliate Faulty at the UW-Madison Justice Lab.
Dr. Kaiksow’s clinical interests include hospital medicine and internal medicine.

Dr. Kaiksow’s scholarly interests include health inequities and how public and health policy can reduce these inequities. Her previous work examined the financial implications of Medicare hospitalization policies on patients with different socioeconomic status. She is currently studying the impact of incarceration on health, particularly among the aging population of incarcerated individuals. She is an Associate Editor at the Journal of Hospital Medicine.
