Dr. Misch is a faculty member in the Division of Infectious Disease within the Department of Medicine. She is active in medical education, and one of the University of Wisconsin Global Health Pathway faculty and leads the self-directed learning curriculum.
She has a strong interest in tuberculosis, leprosy, neglected tropical diseases (Buruli ulcer), and concepts of justice in Western vs non-Western societies, and health equity.
Dr. Misch's research has focused on how genes in the TLR pathway modulate susceptibility to Mycobacteria and Legionella. Her current research interests include bacterial infections following organ transplantation, the epidemiology of nontuberculous mycobacteria, and access to organ transplantation among disadvantaged populations in the United States.
