Professional Activities

Dr. Biagtan is a faculty member in the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Medicine. Honors and awards made to Dr. Biagtan include the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) Travel Scholarship and membership in the Gold Humanism Medical Honor Society. He has served as a Medical Staff Officer on Duty at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital. During his fellowship training, Dr. Biagtan conducted a retrospective clinical study characterizing Veteran patients with penicillin allergy.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Biagtan's medical interests include internal medicine and allergy and immunology. He has delivered clinical lectures on topics including allergy management of pregnant patients, mast cell activation disorders, preoperative anaphylaxis to rabbit thyroglobulin, contrast hypersensitivity reactions, and penicillin allergies.

Research Interests

Dr. Biagtan's research interests include use of next-generation sequencing for diagnosis of neuroleptospirosis, screening and diagnosis of chronic idiopathic urticaria, and clinical characterization of penicillin allergy.
