Professional Activities 

Dr. Gopal is a faculty member in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology within the Department of Medicine. He is also director of the Capsule Endoscopy and Double Balloon Enteroscopy Programs and chief of endoscopy for the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Gopal is a member of numerous professional societies, including the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology, the Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India, and the American College of Gastroenterology.  

Clinical Specialties 

Dr. Gopal’s clinical specialties are advanced endoscopic therapy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), advanced therapeutic endoscopy, ERCP, capsule endoscopy, and double balloon enteroscopy. He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. 

Research Interests 

Dr. Gopal's research interests include Barrett’s esophagus, EUS (endoscopic ultrasound), capsule endoscopy, therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy, endoscopic management of gastrointestinal malignancies and colorectal cancer imaging and screening.
