Professional Activities

Dr. Robert Przybelski is a faculty member in the Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology within the Department of Medicine. He has received many local and national awards for his clinical and educational work, and is world-renowned for his pioneering clinical research with artificial blood. He is the director of Geriatric Memory Clinics and is involved in a number of memory research efforts. He also trains fellow, residents and medical students from multiple disciplines to diagnose and treat dementia, and directs their research efforts in vitamin deficiencies and sleep apnea.

Research Interests

Dr. Przybelski's research interests include vitamin deficiencies causing memory problems, neuroimaging with metabolic, amyloid and tau PET scans, and sleep apnea effects on memory testing. He selects patients for PET scan neuroimaging and refers patients to other investigators' studies. He has developed the "Medically Optimized Subjects for Treatments and Trials" (MOSTT) panel to create the ideal patients for research protocols.
