Emeritus status conferred upon Dr. Mary Klink and Dr. Thomas McFarland

  Chancellor Rebecca Blank has conferred emeritus status upon Mary Klink, MD (pictured at far right), clinical associate professor, Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and Thomas McFarland, MD (pictured at near right), clinical professor, Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Medicine.

Dr. Klink earned her medical degree and completed her residency at Medical College of Wisconsin, followed by fellowship training at the University of Arizona Medical Center. A specialist in sleep-related breathing disorders, Dr. Klink served as director of the Meriter Sleep Center and Wisconsin Sleep and practiced in the field of sleep medicine for over 20 years.

Dr. McFarland earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois and performed his residency and fellowship training at Tufts-New England Medical Center. He was named to the “Top Doctors in Madison” list on five different occasions, and served as Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Director for seven years.

Both Dr. Klink and Dr. McFarland intend to retire at the end of June, 2017. Please congratulate them on behalf of the department for their professional accomplishments and the distinctive contributions they have made to the university.
