Sana Waheed, MD, assistant professor (CHS), Nephrology, has been selected to serve on the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Workforce and Training Committee beginning in January, 2018. 

The committee is charged with developing, implementing, evaluating, and continuously improving initiatives for students, residents, fellows, and other trainees; defining training requirements for nephrologists and promoting improvements to training programs; and promoting interest in kidney medicine, research, and education.

The mission of ASN is to lead the fight to prevent, treat, and cure kidney diseases throughout the world by educating health professionals and scientists, advancing research and innovation, communicating new knowledge, and advocating for the highest quality care for patients. As of March, 2016, the organization included more than 16,000 members representing 124 countries.
