The Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs has recognized the faculty and staff members listed below for their meritorious contributions as mentors in the Undergraduate Research Scholars (URS) program during the 2016-17 academic year. The Undergraduate Research Scholars program provides first- and second-year undergraduate students opportunities to earn credit for participating in research and creative work with UW-Madison faculty and staff. Mentors guide students in aspects of research processes including data-gathering techniques, critical reading of literature, developing a hypothesis, research design, communicating and presenting research results, careers in research, research writing, and research ethics.
