Dr. Yvonne Huang begins as new division chief of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
Yvonne Huang, MD, joined the Department of Medicine as the new chief of the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine on March 1, 2026.
Dr. Huang is a physician-scientist internationally recognized for her research program studying host-microbiome interactions in asthma and COPD. Her work has been funded by NIH and industry partners.
She is also an expert in cystic fibrosis and is deeply committed to education, scholarship, mentoring and fostering collaboration.

Dr. Huang
She joins us from the University of Michigan Medical School, where she held a joint faculty appointment in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Microbiology/Immunology. There, she was a recipient of the Distinguished Clinical and Translational Research Mentor Award.
Dr. Huang earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama, completed her internal medicine residency at Yale, and her pulmonary/critical care fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.
