Professional Activities

Dr. Sriram Gonakoti is a faculty member in the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine. He also serves as a core faculty member in the Internal Medicine Residency Program. He is actively involved in resident education, including the Internal Medicine residency Evidence-Based Medicine curriculum, and serves as co-lead for the residency’s Patient Safety curriculum and Bedside Procedures curriculum.

Dr. Gonakoti is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Society of Hospital Medicine. He has been recognized for excellence in both teaching and clinical care during his residency and faculty career. He received the Dr. Peter Clarke Award for Inpatient Attending Teaching Excellence (2022–2023, Firm B) from the Department of Medicine at Cook County Health and was named to the Star Educator Honor Roll in 2025 by the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Gonakoti’s clinical interests include bedside procedures, evidence-based medicine and clinical reasoning.
