UW Cardiovascular Medicine

University of Wisconsin Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is a dynamic and growing academic program, balancing excellence in research, teaching and clinical care in the setting of a world-class university. Our clinical programs reflect the ever-increasing complexity and technology of cutting-edge medicine, including a multispecialty cardiovascular disease program linking cardiologists with surgeons and other providers who contribute to our patients' well being.

Our research programs are organized around four themes: arrhythmias and ion channels; arterial disease and preventive cardiology; interventional cardiology and structural heart disease; and heart failure. Our efforts are closely aligned to the great strengths in fundamental research in the UW environment, and focus on carrying these into the translational and clinical domains.

In addition, teaching the next generation of specialists in the field of cardiovascular medicine is a priority, at every level.

Our excitement in building cardiovascular medicine is shared by our hospital, School of Medicine and Public Health and university. Together, we are creating the cardiovascular program of the future.
