Our Mission

The mission of the Department of Medicine's Office of Research Services (ORS) is to assist principal investigators in creating and maintaining successful research programs. This includes navigating the intricacies of the research process, both within the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the myriad of other funding sources beyond the University.
The Office of Research Services staff consists of experienced professionals dedicated to guiding you through the life cycle of the grant process.

            We offer training courses in research administration as a team.

            Sponsor an all-day grant writing workshop every other spring, in addition to serving as a resource for all departmental research needs as a team.

            Support Research Day every June to learn about the Research within the Department of Medicine.

Aids in all preaward activities; including the search for available funding opportunities for research. Provides direction/teaching to initiate specific grant applications and how to obtain pertinent information to the application process. Assists in budget preparation and grant preparation. Reviews all grants, and other documents types for sign off for the department of medicine. Provide training in Cayuse, WISPER, ECRT, and the RPPR system. Departmental effort coordinator. Oversight of non-financial postaward. Initates account set up. Assist with NIH Progress reports (RPPR) and No Cost Extensions.
