PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Dr. Elson is a faculty member in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism within the Department of Medicine. She is the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism's director of medical student and resident education, and the associate director of its fellowship program. She was a founding member of State of Wisconsin Diabetes Control Program, is a four-time winner of a UW Health Patient Experience Physician Champion Award, has appeared on Madison Magazine’s “Top Docs” list since 1998, and has been a Best Doctors in America selection multiple times. Dr. Elson has received a number of awards for teaching, including the Department of Medicine’s Graham-Meyer award for fellow and resident teaching, the UW–Madison Physician Assistant Program’s Preceptor of the Year Award, and has twice received the Endocrine Fellows’ Award for Excellence in Endocrine Teaching.

CLINICAL SPECIALTIES

Dr. Elson is an endocrinologist with special interests in insulin pump therapy, intensive insulin therapy, pituitary tumors, thyroid cancer and thyroid disorders. In addition to her work in UW Health endocrinology clinics, she is an attending physician in the UW Health Multidisciplinary Pituitary Tumor clinic.
