Dr. Chris Purtell is a faculty member in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within the Department of Medicine. He is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society. He has also served as the director of Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital since 2023. He serves as associate program director for the Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Purtell specializes in the use of minimally invasive procedures to treat a variety of arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation (AF), supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), and ventricular tachycardia (VT). He also specializes in device-related management and implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, with a special interest in conduction system pacing techniques.
