Professional Activities

Dr. Arnold Wald is a faculty member of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology within the Department of Medicine. He was named a Master Teacher in Gastroenterology by the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine alumni association, is a past recipient of the UW Department of Medicine’s Graham-Meyer Teaching Award and has received two Outstanding Clinical Educator awards from the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology He has authored nearly 150 peer-reviewed journal articles and nearly 150 book chapters, reviews, and other publications; has served on the editorial boards of 10 national or international journals; and has been on several Best Doctors in America lists multiple times.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Wald’s clinical interests include inflammatory bowel diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, fecal incontinence, functional bowel disorders and gastrointestinal motility disorders.
