What is your primary professional focus in any or all of our mission areas (clinical, research, and/or medical education)?
My clinical interest is working as a primary care physician, particularly serving medically complex and underserved patients. I have a background in public health, so I am also very passionate about health policy and health equity research. I also enjoy teaching residents and medical students.

What drew you to UW-Madison and the Department of Medicine?
I was drawn to the clear commitment to excellent patient care, clinical research, and medical education. Also, I have family in the area and Madison is a wonderful place to live!

What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
I am most excited about getting to know the amazing faculty and trainees and working on projects to improve patient care and health care access.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I enjoy trying new restaurants, traveling, and attending music and theatrical performances with my husband, family, and friends.

Favorite piece of advice from a mentor or inspiring figure in your life?
One of my attending physicians in residency told me the following: “Be your own best advocate; do not wait for someone else to push you through and reinforce your value.”
