What does being a chief resident mean to you?
Getting to be a chief resident is such an honor! I see this year as an opportunity to give back and say thank you to the program and the people that have made this residency such a great experience for me. I look forward to working towards continually improving the program with my co-chiefs and the residency team—honoring the great traditions of our program while working to make it an even better place to train.

What are you most looking forward to as chief?
I am looking forward to working with and teaching our amazing residents! It has been such a privilege to work and learn alongside them. As the curriculum chief, I am looking forward to having a small part in their education on their way to becoming outstanding clinicians.

What’s your favorite part of the UW internal medicine residency?
I have enjoyed how the program really allows you to structure your residency around things you are interested in. I have loved getting time to do research and attend pulmonary clinic, while having a breadth of different experiences at UW, the VA and Meriter. But my favorite part is the people—I am so grateful for my coresidents and am inspired by the doctors and people that they are!
