Joshua Lang, MD, MS, assistant professor, Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Palliative Care uses inspiration from the clinic to guide his prostate cancer research program.

"Our goal is to look at the full spectrum. We see what our patients are facing in the clinic and then use that information to come up with new therapeutic options," said Dr. Lang, whose work was profiled in a news article by UW Health.

The story described a new clinical trial that researchers hope will open this year in which Dr. Lang's team will investigate whether a breast cancer drug called IMMU-132 can be used for men with prostate cancer.

His group found that the protein that IMMU-132 targets is frequently expressed on prostate cancer cells. A press release by the manufacturer of IMMU-132 announcing the Phase 2 trial also quoted Dr. Lang.
