What is your primary professional focus as it relates to our mission areas (clinical, research and/or medical education)?
My primary professional focus includes clinical care both in general rheumatology as well as applying ultrasound to improve diagnostic and therapeutic care in the field of rheumatology. I am also committed to medical education as I greatly enjoy working with learners and expanding awareness of the field of rheumatology.
What drew you to UW–Madison and the Department of Medicine?
I completed my post-graduate medical training at the University of Wisconsin (UW), so in a way it feels like “coming home” to continue my career at UW–Madison!
What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
I am excited by the opportunity to utilize ultrasound in my clinical practice as well as the opportunity to participate in the Orion study, expanding rheumatology education for rural primary care providers in Wisconsin. (Read a recent article about this project.)
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I enjoy spending time with family, playing the piano, reading, and hiking.
