Get to know Dr. Nadia Sweet

Nadia Sweet, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor
Rheumatology
What is your primary professional focus as it relates to our mission areas (clinical, research and/or medical education)?
I’m most interested in clinical work with a focus on using musculoskeletal ultrasound to diagnose and monitor diseases, and to guide injections of therapeutic agents into joints. I’m also passionate about medical education and enjoy working with trainees.
What drew you to UW–Madison and the Department of Medicine?
It all came down to the people. UW-Madison is a very collegial environment, and I knew I wanted to practice in an atmosphere that values excellent patient care while supporting each other. I’m very excited to continue to work alongside many of my mentors.
What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
I’m most excited to improve my musculoskeletal ultrasound skills and teach ultrasound to other learners.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I enjoy spending time with my family. I have a 4-year-old son and a 4-month-old daughter. When my husband and I can get away from the kids we enjoy listening to live music. Running (more like very slow jogging while blasting music) is how I center myself.
Favorite piece of advice from a mentor or inspiring figure in your life?
"You're never as good as you think you are when you win, and you're never as bad as you feel when you lose.”
