What does being a chief resident mean to you?
Being a chief resident means being both a leader of and advocate for the residents. We have the unique position of both championing the program and working towards change in meaningful ways.
Being selected as a chief is truly an honor. As a medical student and intern, I looked up to the chiefs as role models. I feel incredibly privileged to step into the role this year!
What are you most looking forward to as chief?
I am looking forward to honing my teaching skills and facilitating the intern curriculum! I hope to find ways to innovate within the curriculum and grow the program's educational offerings.
I am also looking forward to mentoring residents and helping them develop their professional and personal identities.
Personally, I am also looking forward to dedicating time to my research on diagnostic stewardship in infectious diseases.
What’s your favorite part of the UW internal medicine residency?
The people! I came here for the many wonderful things you can find on paper but have stayed for the incredible people and the tremendous camaraderie of the program.
We are so lucky to be surrounded by so many mentors, advocates, and teachers, whom I hope to learn from over this next year.
