Wellness Committee Mission
Our mission is to bring awareness to the importance of resident physician well-being, and support resident efforts to be healthy, build resilience, and find meaning and joy in our work. We hope to achieve this by planning resident social events, developing a wellness curriculum, and disseminating resources and training on stress management, burnout recognition, and resiliency.
The University of Wisconsin Internal Medicine Residency Program recognizes caring and compassion as core values and wellness as a key program aim. In keeping with that mission, our program has formed a resident-run Wellness Committee that distributes monthly newsletters highlighting resident achievements and biographies, wellness resources, and upcoming events. We host monthly activities both in-house and in the community to maximize program participation. We are also incorporating wellness into our curriculum.
