Professional Activities

Dr. Sweet is a faculty member in the Division of Rheumatology within the Department of Medicine. Dr. Sweet graduated with distinction in the department's Fellows as Medical Educators (FAME) track. She also serves on the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Membership and Awards committees, and advocates on a national level in collaboration with the ACR to educate non-rheumatology providers about lupus.

She has been recognized with several honors, including the Department of Medicine Star Educator Award, the Lawrence J. Crocker Award for Excellence in General Internal Medicine, and the Donald J. Worden Memorial Scholarship for Compassionate Care.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Sweet’s clinic interests include inflammatory arthritis and autoimmune disorders such as lupus and vasculitis. Additional clinic interests include the use of ultrasound for the diagnosis and monitoring of conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and gout, and to guide injections of therapeutic agents into joints.

Research Interests

Dr. Sweet’s research work includes a Medicare cohort study on post-discharge follow-up and mortality in lupus, and a meta-analysis on adverse social determinants in lupus nephritis.
