Professional Activities

Dr. Smeins is a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine, where she serves as a hospitalist at UW Madison Hospital and East Madison Hospital, providing acute care for hospitalized patients. She is involved in medical education at multiple training levels, from providing shadowing opportunities to undergraduate pre-medical students to attending on the inpatient resident teaching teams. She also serves as a case reviewer on the Hospital Medicine Peer Review committee and is a member of the American College of Physicians.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Smeins has interests in health policy, social determinants of health, and addiction medicine.
