Professional Activities

Dr. Najiyah Salwa is a faculty member in the Division of Nephrology within the Department of Medicine. Dr. Salwa cares for patients living with a wide range of renal diseases and disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with expertise in acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, dialysis therapies, and endovascular interventions. She is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), the American Society of Nephrology (ASN), the Renal Physicians Association (RPA), and the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (ASDIN). During her training, Dr. Salwa was recognized with the Fellowship Excellence Award from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Salwa’s clinical interests include interventional nephrology, vascular access management, endovascular interventions, tunneled catheter placement, fistulograms, and home dialysis modalities.

Research Interests

Dr. Salwa’s research and quality improvement interests focus on clinical outcomes in dialysis therapies, procedural interventions in nephrology, and standardized clinical blood pressure monitoring.
