Professional Activities

Dr. Dirk Nuenninghoff is a faculty member in the Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine. He served as a Rheumatology Consultant at SSM Health (Dean Medical Group) from 2003 to 2025, initially both in Madison and Portage, Wisconsin, since 2022 only in Portage, Wisconsin. He sees patients at UW outreach sites. His primary location is Portage, Wisconsin.

Clinical Specialties

As a clinical rheumatologist, he sees patients with various rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, lupus, Sjögren's syndrome, polymyositis, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, vasculitis, polymyalgia rheumatica and giant cell arteritis. He is committed to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care for patients with chronic rheumatologic conditions.
