She uses methods including informatics, patient and provider surveys, and machine learning in her program of health services and health delivery research.

Her lab's current federally funded projects include a dissemination and implementation project to improve nonsurgical urinary incontinence care at 31 practices across Wisconsin, and an observational study of variation in dosing of cytotoxic chemotherapy in breast cancer patients at 11 sites. They have recently begun recruitment on a National Cancer Institute-funded multisite study to improve adherence to adjuvant endocrine therapy for hormone-positive breast cancer, utilizing scheduled collection of patient symptom reports, and using oncology pharmacist team responses to the reports.
