Professional Activities

Dr. Allexa Licon is a faculty member in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within the Department of Medicine, and serves as an Associate Program Director for the Cardiovascular Disease fellowship. Dr. Licon is a Centennial Clinician through the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health Centennial Scholars/Centennial Clinicians Program. Additionally, Dr. Licon serves as a member of the Wisconsin Maternal Mortality Review Team.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Licon is a Non-Invasive Cardiologist with a significant interest in Cardio-Obstetrics, a field specializing in providing medical care for individuals with cardiovascular conditions in the preconception, pregnancy and postpartum periods. Dr. Licon is particularly interested in serving as a healthcare provider and educator with the aims to address the significant proportion of U.S. maternal deaths secondary to cardiovascular complications and health disparities observed pertaining to maternal cardiovascular outcomes.

Research Interests

Dr. Licon serves as a site Principal Investigator for the Impact of Bromocriptine on Clinical Outcomes for Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (REBIRTH) trial.
