Professional Activities

Dr. Kelly is a faculty member of the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Medicine. He has previously served as president of the Wisconsin Allergy Society. Prior to joining the faculty of UW–Madison, he served as an allergy physician in Madison, Wisconsin and as medical director of the Neighborhood Asthma Clinic.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Kelly's medical interests include penicillin allergy, allergic rhinitis, and aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease. He has delivered clinical presentations on topics such as allergy and angioedema, practical approaches to allergy and asthma for non-allergists, radiocontrast reactions, aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease, pregnancy and asthma, and immunobiologic therapies for eosinophilic syndromes.

Research Interests

Dr. Kelly's research interests include the role of eosinophils in innate immune activation. He has published research articles on the interaction between allergy and innate immunity, aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease, eosinophil regulation of virus-induced inflammation, and host responses to rhinovirus. Dr. Kelly has served as a sub-investigator on several clinical research studies.
