Dr. Tahmeed Contractor is a faculty member in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within the Department of Medicine. Dr. Contractor joined the University of Wisconsin–Madison after almost a decade of work at another academic institution, where he played an instrumental role in shaping the institution's electrophysiology (EP) programs. In his previous role, he founded and directed the lead extraction program and spearheaded the development of an EP outreach program that enhanced community access to electrophysiology services. He also established an ACGME-accredited CCEP fellowship program at his previous institution, where he served as program director. Dr. Contractor has served as a faculty member for leading symposia and webinars on cardiac devices and lead extraction. He has been inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Sigma Xi Research Society, reflecting his commitment to clinical and academic excellence.
Dr. Contractor’s clinical interests include complex arrhythmia management and ablation; cardiac implantable electronic device management, implantation, and extraction; and left atrial appendage occlusion.
