Professional Activities

Dr. Chiao is a faculty member in the Division of Nephrology in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Chiao provides both inpatient and outpatient care for people living with a wide range of kidney diseases and disorders. She is the recipient of multiple performance awards including the University of Washington Cares Award given for exemplary demonstration of commitment to patient care by showing respect and compassion, embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion, and encouraging collaboration and teamwork. 

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Chiao’s clinical interests span a range of general nephrology including chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, critical care nephrology, electrolyte disorders, and cystic kidney diseases. 

Research Interests

Dr. Chiao’s research interests include polycystic kidney disease (PKD), acute kidney injury and quality improvement.
