Professional Activities

Dr. Bartho Caponi is a faculty member in the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine. An award-winning clinician and teacher, Dr. Caponi is active in the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics inpatient teaching services and Hospital Medicine services. He is the Medical Director for Utilization Management. He chairs the UW Health Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, the UW Health Utilization Management Committee, and the UW Medical Foundation Council of Faculty, where he also represents the Department of Medicine. He also serves on the Wisconsin ACP’s Membership Committee and is Vice-Chair of the American College of Physician Advisors’ Observation Committee. He has received the UW Health Clinical Practice Excellence Award for Leadership, Division of Hospital Medicine awards for teaching and practice excellence, and has appeared twice on Madison Magazine’s list of “Top Docs.”
