Professional Activities

James D. Alstott, MD, is a faculty member in the Division of Nephrology in the Department of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the National Kidney Foundation. Dr. Alstott also serves as Core Faculty for the Nephrology Fellowship Program and was selected to serve on American Board of Internal Medicine Nephrology Item-Writing Task force from 2023 through 2027. Outside of work, he is a loving husband and father to his young family.

Research Interests

Dr. Alstott's interests include medical education, the progression of chronic kidney disease, care transitions of acute kidney injury, and hyponatremia.
