Professional Activities

Dr. Amaka Achufusi is a faculty member in the Division of Nephrology within the Department of Medicine. She serves as the POC Lab Director and the Medical Director for the Fresenius Dialysis Unit in Fitchburg. Before joining UW, she was an assistant research physician in the Kidney Disease Branch of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Achufusi is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the National Kidney Foundation.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Achufusi’s clinical interests focus on general nephrology diseases such as Chronic Kidney Disease, Glomerulonephritis, and Onconephrology.
